Landon's First Christmas

Here are some of the highlights from Landon's first Christmas...

Santa came to our house early since we were traveling to Texas. Here is what
he brought...

We took it out for a spin and he loved it (even though you can't tell by the expression on his face).

Once we were in Texas we had lots of fun cousin time...

...and family time

Landon had fun opening presents. He has more than he could ever ask for.

My post will abruptly stop here for now because my computer is acting crazy and I can't get more pictures added. I will update this post once it is straightened out. All in all though we had a fantastic Christmas!

8 Months

Here is what my little man has been up to.

* He has 2 teeth now...and his bit me a few times.
* He waves hi or bye-bye, which ever you prefer and it is so darn cute!
* Size 2 diapers still fit and he wears 6-9 months clothes
* We have started finger foods and he really loves yogurt melts. If I need to keep him entertained I can put him in the high chair with a few of these.
* He has a really good army crawl and he is fast. He hasn't moved on all 4 yet except for just a few seconds.
* He climbs on everything and now has to be strapped into the highchair because he has on occasion decided to stand up and turn around.
* Any random object is more entertaining than any toys he may have.
* He has started eating meat, but still no cereal or apples.
* He is sleeping better at night now but, wakes up promptly at 7:30 each morning.
* Pinching and pulling hair is pretty common if you are holding him mostly because he is trying to climb all over.
* He is 100% all boy! Rough and tumble ready at any moment.
* He also drinks out of a cup...like a big boy (sniff, sniff)

And now here he is...My 8 Month Old!

To whom it may concern...

To whom it may concern,

I received your very anonymous little letter in the mail the other day. It came on a day when I was certainly in need of cheering up. As you letter stated, it did in fact, brighten my day. I thank you for the $10 tucked away inside. I will use it to by myself a little Christmas treat. What a fun and mysterious way to send a smile to someone. I hope to do the same for someone else in return.

Thanks Again (Who ever you are!)

7 months

Yes, I know, last month I vowed to be on time with this month's post. As per usual I am several weeks late! Better late than never, right!?! Here is what the little guy has been up to...
  • He is 28" long (78%) and 15lbs 13oz (10%)
  • He still cannot crawl but, he can definitely get where ever he wants to just by rolling and scooting.
  • He is eating sooo much! He has a sensitive tummy though and spits up ALL the time!
  • When I am feeding him his baby food and he is ready for another bite, he opens his mouth and leans forward. I think he looks like a tiny baby bird waiting for food. Oh how I love it!
  • There is one lone tooth in that little mouth (bottom left) it is so cute! With the one right next to it following close behind.
  • He is still in 3-6 month clothes around but needs 9 month pants because he is so long!
  • He had been having some trouble sleeping but, I think we may have gotten most of the kinks worked out. Bedtime and sleeping through the night is still a work in progress.
  • NOTHING gets past this guy! He is so observant, he constantly sits and watches people and looks at how things work.
  • He has started to get so much fuzzy white hair on top, I wish you could see it in the pictures.
  • He says Mama with purpose now, he clearly calls for me (I REALLY love this!)
  • When I come home from work he gasps with excitement when he sees me. Everyone should be greeted this way, it makes my heart happy.
  • If he wants you to pick him up or hold him he holds his tiny little arms up to you.
  • He is such a ham, he makes the funniest little faces, blows bubbles, makes silly noises and does what I call the baby whisper.
  • He can also recognize my parents and Presley on Skype. He gets so excited when he sees them and tries to reach and grab the screen.
These past 7 months have flown by, I cannot believe in just a few short months he will be a year old. It makes me sad that it is going by so fast. I treasure every single moment with him. I want to remember everything and we are super excited for the holidays this year.

And, for the Grand Finale... let me just say this was not the best 7 month picture I took. I had better ones but this one shows off his little personality so well I had to use it.

Does anyone else think this monkey is shrinking. It sure looks like it because there is no way my baby could be this big!

These pictures are getting harder to take every month. I usually have to take about 15 just to get one good one. Here are some of our out takes from this month.

Embrace the Camera: Halloween Edition

This year Halloween was, of course, very different from ones in the past. I had so much fun making Landon's costume (which Heath picked out last year before we even knew he was a boy) While I did spend most of the night behind the camera, Heath did manage to take the camera the few times I was carrying him. My back was giving me alot of trouble from carrying him around so much and I had a migraine but, I was NOT going to miss this little guy's FIRST Halloween.

This is our small decoy bag that only held a few pieces of candy when it was full we dumped it into our big bag. Yeah, we're scandalous like that!

Landon loved watching everyone and going to all the houses.

Getting some good practice for next year!

This little guy is All Done! He feel asleep directly following this picture!

6 months!

How is that this tiny, precious man has been in our lives 6 months ...half a year! These months are passing so much more quickly than I ever thought they would! Here is what we have been up to over the past month...

  • At last weigh in he was 15lbs 4oz
  • He sits up like a champ!
  • Reflux was a problem for awhile but he is now on Zantac and doing much better. Sometimes he even sleeps through the night
  • He says ma-ma and ba-ba...over and over again
  • We started baby food this month and he eats carrots, sweet potatoes, peaches and pears
  • He strongly dislikes green beans.
  • It will not be long before he can crawl he scoots around pretty good.
  • He is almost to long for 3 to 6 month clothes, so we have to put him in 9 month pants which are too big around.
  • He constantly grabs your face, hair, eyes ect.
  • When he gets mad he squishes up his face and snorts. It is one of the funniest things I have seen.
  • He has finally decided that formula is not that bad.
  • He holds his own bottle and it is super cute when he does it.
  • No teeth yet!

Next month I promise to update much sooner!

5 Months....Finally!

My little man turned 5 months over a week ago, I have just now had time to sit down to blog about it. Here is what has been going on over the past month.

  • He is 14lbs 12oz (17%) 26" (52%) and head is 16.5" (32%)...still long and lean.
  • This little guy can now roll from back to tummy. He rolls all over the house. I call him my roly poly man.
  • Once he rolls to where he wants to be, he rolls on to his back and then proceeds to kick at whatever it might be that he was interested in.
  • He went on his first vacation and he LOVED the pool. Not the ocean...just the pool.
  • We can now add Florida and Alabama to the list of states he has visited.
  • He loves to give kisses.
  • He is not yet sitting up but, it shouldn't be too much longer
  • This man flat out HATES...formula. He is so dramatic about it. I have had to supplement a few of his bottles. He gags, chokes, spits it out, makes face, looks at you like you have lost your mind. You would think we were killing him.
  • We have tried cereal but it seems to give him a tummy ache but, he loves to eat it so, we are currently trying a few different things to see if we can help avoid said tummy ache.
  • Landon adores Odie! Odie loves Landon! He cannot get enough of this stupid dog. He laughs so hard when he sees him and he giggles anytime Odie licks him...which is most of the time. If Landon is on the floor Odie is right next to him. I think I see lifelong friends here.
  • Everything and I mean EVERYTHING goes in his mouth!
  • He is still in 3-6 month clothes and size 2 diapers
Sweet Baby Boy,
I cannot believe you have been here for 5 months already. You fill my heart with joy every single day! Oh how I love you!

Embrace the Camera: For the First time...

Since Landon has been born I have spent most of my time behind the camera. The pictures I do have of me with him are most often when my hair is done, make-up on and I make sure that you have got my "good angle". There were not really any pictures of me just being a mom.

A month or so ago I came across a blog that where I found out about "Embrace the Camera". I love the concept. The idea is to step out from behind the camera and allow someone else to shoot pictures of you, just the way you are...being a mom.

On vacation, Heath just happened to be taking pics of us when I wasn't paying attention. These are some of my favorite pictures, just me playing with Landon. After we got home and I saw these pictures I realized, I really am a mom. Not that I wasn't before but, it is different to see things in a picture, the way other people see you.

So, here I am "Embracing the Camera"...for the first time.

Now it's your turn!
