Christmas in a Nutshell

This Christmas season seemed very chaotic for some reason. I think it was because I was so preoccupied with getting Landon's room started. I am not going to lie I was actually anxious for Christmas to be over with so we could move on to 2011. Here is a short recap of some of the things we did this holiday season

Earlier in December Annie was playing at Macon Little Theater. I LOVED this movie when I was younger and anxious to share it with the girls. Alyssa and I got tickets to go on a Friday night, just the two of us. I picked her up that evening and we had to make a quick stop to pick up some additional fabric for the baby bedding. After that we went to eat at Stevie B's. We both wanted to try the Candy Cane pizza. I think we decided it was ok but that the Chocolate Pizza is much better. After dinner we headed over to the theater.

Alyssa loved the play just as much as I did. She did want it to stop when it was time for intermission. They had cast some very talented young girls and I think it may have given Alyssa the stage bug! When the play was over all the actors were out front including Sandy, the dog. He, of course, was the one she was most excited to meet.

We had a great time together. I am always amazed at how big she is getting. She was just 6 weeks old when I saw her for the first time and now she is growing into such a wonderful young lady.
The next week is when mom and dad came out. As you have already seen we spent most of our time working on the room. We did also celebrate our Christmas together while they were here. I for some reason have no pictures of this. Mom took most of the pictures this time and she has them all...sorry!

Christmas Eve we went to Heath's Dad's house. It was nice to get to see family. Everyone had so many questions about the baby. I didn't get many pictures that evening but here are a few that I did get.

Heath and I

Here I am with my sisters-in-law Kristi and Holly

Later that evening, after everyone else left, we went to see an amazing light display in Cochran. It was so beautiful...and really COLD! The kids loved it!

Once we left the light display we all headed home and Heath and I had our Christmas with each other. We both talked about how different things are going to be next Christmas and how excited we were for our special little miracle.

Here I am in my Christmas pajamas and I think they serve as the perfect wrapping for my favorite Gift of ALL TIME!!! I was so exhausted I went to bed soon after this picture.

This picture is my favorite of all our Christmas pictures. To see that third stocking hanging there in the middle almost makes me cry when I see it.

Here are the boys checking out what Santa left for them!

Christmas Day we spent with the rest of Heath's family and for some reason I have not one single picture of any of our time together. I think I was still so tired I pretty much just sat back and watched everyone else. Later that night Heath and I watched A Christmas Story. We normally watch it on Christmas Eve but I couldn't keep my eyes open long enough to make it through.

I think this last picture is the perfect way to end this post because it pretty much sums up how I felt about Christmas this year.

I already got what I wanted, now lets move on to next year...

Look 2011...Here we come!

99 days....

Today is a special day...

My ticker has officially reached double digits!!!

That's right....99 days and counting! Everybody sing....

99 days of pregnancy left,
99 days before birth,
Gain a pound
Baby is movin' around
99 days of pregnancy left

Pregnancy is apparently making me a little loopy and I realize it may not be exactly 99 days but, for today it makes me happy to think so!

Landon's Room - Part 1

To say that I am a little behind on blogging would be a small understatement. The last two weeks have flown by. I have had so much to do but, now I am back in the swing of things and will attempt to catch up.

About two weeks ago Mom and Dad came out to visit and we had an Extreme Nursery Makeover weekend. Of course, we didn't spend the whole time working on the room. We also enjoyed time together. We celebrated Christmas and also went to Atlanta for the night, which included a yummy dinner at Maggiano's.

I digress...back to the room!

Here are the "Before" pictures of Landon's Room. I must admit I am a little embarrassed to show them because we literally have done nothing to this room since we moved in two years ago. I didn't want to do to much to it because I always knew it would be a nursery!

It sort of looks like we took a picture of this sad little computer desk!

The room is almost all cleaned out!

Dad was kind enough to spend his time off painting the room and adding moldings. Here we are midway through....

I was a little worried at first that the color would look to "girly" but once it was up I loved it!

While Dad worked on the room, Mom and I worked on the bedding. I had found my fabric well over a month ago and after some long Internet searching I finally found enough for everything I needed. Since, Heath and I are such dog lovers, the clear choice to decorate the nursery in was puppy dogs. Once I found the fabric it all started to come together. I also knew that I wanted to use turquoise and red.
Here is how it all turned out...

The wall decal is from etsy. I love it!!!

Close up of the dog fabric. If you look close Jackson and Odie are both on there.

This was just the beginning of the room. I still have to complete the bed skirt and mom is also having a quilt made for the room. I cannot wait to see how that turns out. I also have a half dozen other little projects I want to do in the room. Once the rest of the furniture is put together and all the finishing touches are added I will post new pictures. Lets be honest though, the room will not totally be complete until that little man is home in his bed!

Look out Month #6, Here I come!

Hello there month 6!

I have officially been growing a baby for 5 full months now...23 weeks to be exact!

So what did month 5 have to offer....

* We found out it was a boy...if you don't know this, then this is obviously your first time reading my blog

* He moves...alot. Mostly in the evening but for now he is kind to me when I sleep and I don't feel him or it doesn't bother me enough to wake me up.

* He responds to music on the outside...and rather likes it. He wiggles alot when its on.

* He also responds when the dog barks...it must startle him.

*My tummy is starting to get tight. (Not as excited about this one)

*My waist measurement has officially surpassed my bust measurement!

* I pretty much only wear maternity clothes to work, I still have a few casual pieces that are regular.

* My feet hurt me in the evenings. Thank goodness Heath is willing to rub them almost every night.

*We (and when I say we I mean my entire family) has been a wee bit obsessed with shopping for the little man.

* Nursery furniture is ordered and nursery fabric is ordered. I will give you sneak peak soon. Mom and Dad are coming next week to help us get most of it together because lets be honest no nursery would be complete without Grammie and Pappa's touch.

* My current obsession is...Chocolate Cake...I love it!!! I try not to eat too much because I don't want the booty to get any bigger than it has to!

That's about all the excitement for the month.
Look out for the Nursery Sneak Peek coming soon!

Gender Reveal Weekend - Part 2

The Party
(This is mostly a picture post because I think the pictures speak louder than any words could)

Our Gender Reveal party was held the next night on Saturday at Johnny Carino's. All of our family and close friends were invited, we had about 25 people total. We had asked every one to wear either pink or blue depending on their prediction. I am just going to assume that not many people own pink because I am pretty sure there was more blue than pink. I was absolutely certain it was a girl (note the pink) and Heath was 100% sure it was a boy (as his shirt will show) I would also like to state that, of the two of us, I am right about 99% of the time.

Proud Parents-to-Be

Part of Team Pink
Presley, Mom, Myself and Ashlie
We were all certain it was a girl.
I would also like to note that Team blue consisted of mostly of Heath's family with the exception of Kristi (who was a strong Team Pink player) and Alivia (who was dressed by Kristi)
There were also a few other Pink Players but mostly it was Team Blue players

The Cake.
I worried over this cake more than I did my wedding cake.

We are ready to cut!

Here we go!

So, I think this picture pretty much tells you what color the cake is! If you can't tell I am quite shocked that this cake is actually BLUE! I had to look twice. I am never wrong!

I am just a tad shocked and I am still unsure if I am comprehending this whole color thing...
I am WRONG! REALLY!

My baby is a BOY!
I am somewhere between laughing and crying (tears of happiness of course)
and Heath cannot contain his excitement!

It is slowly sinking in that I am having a baby boy and it's not just the fact that its a boy I feel like I would have been this overwhelmed either way because now this little one has an identity.

I'm wrong...SERIOUSLY!

Yeah, it's Blue!

Its definitely BLUE!!

Somewhere in the middle of all this excitement Heath pulls out a Blue baby sock corsage that he had bought me, just in case his was right...for once! Here he is putting it on me.

I am laughing at Heath's excitement, the corsage and...and Really! I'm wrong!

Proud papa and his Blue cake.

Holy Cow! We are having a BOY!!!

Baby Landon

This is probably my favorite picture of us the entire evening.

This is the ultrasound picture that was sealed in the envelope in my purse.

It is definitely a boy. The picture is sort of at an odd angle it is almost a profile.

While I was shocked that it was a boy, I am super excited. This is the first boy for our family on both sides. It took me a little while to shift gears. I have never shopped for a boy before. I am surrounded by little girls, I don't think I had ever even been in a boy's department before. Sunday we spent time shopping and had a great time. After a little while I definitely got into the swing of things. This little guy is going to be VERY spoiled and we are going to have alot of fun, the three of us!

This was probably the most fun I have ever had being wrong...not that I have ever been wrong before!

Gender Reveal Weekend - Part 1

Holy Cow! Sorry it has taken me so long to post about this. Things have been crazy since last week and I haven't found time to sit down and write.

Last Thursday night Mom, Ashlie and Presley flew in from Texas for the weekend. Friday morning I had my ultrasound done which was part 1 of the gender reveal. I came to the Dr. office with quite a crew...7 to be exact and 2 babies. We took up most of the waiting room. I don't think they had ever seen that many people for an ultrasound before. I didn't care I wanted them all there. In addition to Mom, Ashlie and P, Kristi and the girls and Linda all came too. Of course Heath was there.

When it was finally our turn to go we all bunched into the room to take a peek at the little one. When it was time to get the "money shot" I made everyone hide their eyes so that there was no peeking!!! Afterwards, the ultrasound tech called the results in to the cake lady and then sealed THE SHOT in an envelope. It was driving everyone (but me I think) crazy that the results were right there in our hands and we couldn't look.

After our appointment we all went for lunch downtown and then off to get ready for the next day!

Take a look at our pics aren't they cute!!!

It's That Time Again!

I cannot believe we are approaching that time of year again. Everyone is buzzing around getting ready for the holidays. One of my favorite things to do each year is to do my Christmas Cards. On Saturday we took our Christmas photos and now I can hardly wait to plan my cards.

Last year a dear friend of mine sent me the most adorable Christmas Photo card, when I flipped it over I noticed it was from Shutterfly. I decided right then that my next photo cards would come from there. If you haven't been on there site it is a must!!! They have some amazing Photo Christmas Cards at all different price points. I personally have been having a difficult time choosing. Here are some of my favorites...

I cannot wait to get our Christmas photos back to see what they look the best in. The best part is that if you are a tiny bit nuts (like me) and want everything to coordinate most of the cards have matching address labels!

Shutterfly also has some wonderful Christmas gifts as well. They have adorable photo books and calenders that make excellent gifts! I think I just might have to have one of these little pewter ornaments hanging on my tree with my sonogram picture in it!

You should definitely take a look at all their amazing gifts and if you haven't already chosen your Christmas cards you should really check them out! And if you are a blogger you can get 50 free ones! Click here to see how: Shutterfly

I already have my eye on some adorable birth announcements for the spring! Don't worry people, I have some BIG posts coming very soon! With some very exciting news!!!!

Favorite Things Friday!

Actually, lets call it...
Fashion Friday - Maternity Edition

Skinny Maternity Jeans

I purchased mine from Motherhood Maternity for about $30 and I am in love with them. They look super cute with boots, flats, or heels. The great part is if you go in to the store and they don't have your size they will ship them to you for free.

Winter Maternity Coat

Some of you said "Don't do it" or "Don't waste your money" but, I did it anyway...and I LOVE IT! This isn't my actual coat but, it's very similar. I bought mine last week when the high was in the low 50's. I had worn my regular coat only to realize in another few weeks it wasn't going to close. I found a great maternity coat at Burlington Coat factory for $22, so I snatched it up. It is one of my favorite purchases. I don't even look pregnant when I wear it...at least for now.

Layering tees

This one was suggested to me by Ashlie and I now own three (ivory, white and lime). I plan to add a grey, black and red one too. The ones I have purchased are not maternity they are just regular layering tees but one size larger (or you can purchase the maternity version as shown. This is the Heidi Klum brand from Motherhood.) Because the fabric is typically thin they stretch, and will keep stretching over the tummy. The best part is they are long enough to cover my bump. I have worn them alone with jeans and also under sweaters, summer dresses, sleeveless shirts, just about anything really. You can find them almost anywhere for under $10.

*Just a reminder you have less than a week to vote on the baby poll found on my side bar...Don't forget to vote!

4 months down, 5 and some change to go....

Holy Cow! How is it possible that I am now, officially, 5 months pregnant. It feels like yesterday we were standing over that little stick that said the most beautiful word I have ever seen..."Yes"

Month 4 was relatively uneventful. I have started to get some of my energy back, which is nice. It is increasingly harder for me to bend over. Everything is starting to push up into my chest, making me short of breath on occasion. I am pretty sure I have painted my own toenails for the last time or at least until April.

This little monkey started moving and now moves alot! I now feel the baby on a daily basis. He (or she) is the most active between 9 and 12 at night. (I think this baby might be a night owl, like us.) It is so crazy to feel it moving. Heath was finally able to feel it on the outside, two little kicks. I have also been able to feel, what I can only assume, is the baby turning over?!? It almost feels like losing your stomach on a roller coaster. Whatever it is, is a very odd sensation!

My wardrobe is becoming more limited as I get bigger. Many of my pre-pregnancy shirts are getting too small, or more like too short. Maternity clothing (that looks decent) is very limited, so I have had to do a little creative shopping. Thank goodness long shirts and sweaters are in! I actually don't mind my new curves too much. Heath likes my new Kardashian-like booty, I don't mind it much either, provided it doesn't get much bigger!

In just 2 weeks we will be having the ultrasound to find out the sex, only we won't be finding out that day. The following day, we are having a gender reveal party, with family and friends to find out what we are having. We will have the cake, and cut it to reveal either pink or blue inside. I am so excited about this I can't wait. If you would like to make your prediction I have added a poll to my side bar. Let me know what you think I am having...pink or blue, either will do!!!

For the grand finale, here is my new picture at a full 4 months! I definitely have a bump now and thats not all thats growing!!
