Landon's First Birthday

After quite a bit of planning (you know because I can't do anything simple) I managed to put together L's party but, not without some help from mom. We had Landon's party on the Friday night after his birthday.

Here is the picture that was on his invitation. Our theme was "We've got the first year licked"

I really wanted to do a candy bar for the party and you can see we had plenty of lollipops to go around!

Grammi and Poppa came to celebrate!

You can't really see to much in this pic but the soda's say "Landon's First Birthday!"

All those monthly photos put to use. This may or may not still be hanging...because I love to look at it!

I really, really, really (for whatever reason) wanted to make Landon's first cake. I had seen a cake on Pinterest that was similar and wanted to recreate it. I am not going to lie...I was really nervous that I was going to screw it up.

Landon loved my cake, I am assuming everyone else did too because it was completely gone!
Good thing I hid a piece!

I had fun planning the party but I was glad when it was over. Next year we may party at Chucky Cheese!

 Happy 1st Birthday Landon Dean!!!

1 YEAR!!!

I truly cannot believe Landon is a year old. I never in my wildest dreams thought this year would go by so quickly but, it has and now I have a toddler. I will continue to take his picture monthly for the next year but I will not do an update each month. For now, here is our last monthly update.

  • Landon finally started walking beyond taking just a few steps here and there. He is fully mobile just in time for his birthday.
  • He is now on whole milk
  • Copies almost everything you say and do including coughing, blowing your nose and whistling.
  • His newest words are "Boo" "Dog" "Bird" and "Cookie"
  • He signs "all done" and "more" and knows what they mean.
  • He LOVES outside and would gladly stay out all day and he LOVES to play in his water table and screams when its time to come in.
  • He has some pretty sweet dance moves!
  • Spends alot of his time driving his cars
  • Loves to get in the cabinet and play with the pots and pans
  • Sleeps ALL NIGHT LONG!!! and will stay in his bed until you get him up.
  • Eats anything and everything including sushi, Japanese food, Mexican food (which resulted in a terrible diaper rash) jellybeans and beets
  • When I go into get him each morning he wants me to kiss whatever stuffed animal he has (usually Ernie) and then he kisses him too.
  • He blows kisses, brushes his hair, brushes his teeth, points to whatever it is he wants and feeds the dog
  • Starting to get a little attitude, he screams at you if you are doing something he doesn't like
  • Still has the sweetest baby laugh of all time
To my sweet Landon
Oh quickly time has passed! It seems only yesterday I was bringing you home for the first time. I wish I could tell you how much I have enjoyed the past year. You have made me happier than I ever could have imagined. I cannot wait to see what is in store for us over the next year. I love you baby boy! Happy Birthday!

Wordless Wednesday: Birthday Boy - Now and Then

Baby today...toddler tomorrow...

Oh. My. Goodness. How on earth is it possible that I will be the mom of a toddler tomorrow? How has a year already passed? I knew it would go by fast but, I think it was more like warp speed. Don't get me wrong there were moments that I thought would never end. They did end, in the blink of an eye. There was waaaaay more fun and good times then there were stressful times. This past year has been the most amazing year ever.

One year ago today, after a surprise water breaking incident, Heath and I headed to the hospital. I will never forget that drive. We were so excited, scared and happy for what was ahead. I will be old and gray and never forget those last few moments of us being a family of 2. Landon's entrance into this world is my most precious memory. Watching him take his first breath was stunning. My heart sings when I think of the moment we first looked into each others eyes. The world around me stopped and so did his crying. For a moment, it was just the two of us looking at each other. He was the most beautiful baby I had ever seen.

There is nothing I enjoy more than being a mommy. I love seeing each and every one of Landon's milestones. I get so excited when he does something for the first time. Even though it means that he is growing up. I adore it when he calls for me, seeing his sweet smile each morning and when he hugs my neck when I pick him up. He brings me more joy than I ever thought possible.

I have been so amazed to see Heath with him too. They have so much fun playing together. I love to see him rock Landon or to try to teach him something new. Landon makes us laugh out loud on a daily basis.

Oh, Sweet Landon,

You're are my greatest gift ever, a special delivery straight from the hands of God. I could not imagine life without you. I have treasured these past 12 months. I am honored to be called your Mommy. Tonight I put you to bed as a baby for one last time. Tomorrow you will be a toddler and while I am sad to leave babyhood behind I am thrilled to see the amazing little boy you are growing into. Daddy and I love you more than you will ever know. We would do anything for you. You are our greatest treasure. We love you Landon Dean...to the moon and back a million times. Even though tomorrow you will be a toddler, you will always be my baby!

Love Mommy
